I need something and I don't even know if this person exists. I use to think I was mildly Autistic until my mother told me I wasn't. I just don't get how to interact with people. Conversations are really hard for me. I know the basic formula for a conversation but I always seem to be left out. If I am working on a committee we will go out for drinks afterwards but when it comes to people calling me to go out they don't. My family is full of charismatic people but I am not one of them. People say I am stuck up but I try to talk and it just doesn't work. I am always described as nice, I wash, I don't smell bad. The friends I do have enjoy spending time with me but it is just meeting new people that I have a problem with. Is there a therapist that can help me. I know I will never be the most social person but I just want to be less socially clumsy.

I think seeing a t is a great idea. They can help you brainstorm ideas to get more socially active. You have the will to change which is the first step.

Maybe you've got some social anxiety? I think a T could help with that. I also think maybe you would benefit from group therapy.

It takes work and practice for some of us I think. I got much better at interactions from working with a therapist.
You might want to join something like Toastmasters, http://www.toastmasters.org/ that will give you new people to practice on while you're learning to talk extemporaneously (on the spur of the moment, without warning).
