My beef with the movie was the line towards the end from Barbie's creator to Barbie where she says that mothers stand still so their daughters can see how far they've come. So just because you give birth, you suddenly stop being an individual person with no dreams and goals of your own? I would be sad if my mother felt she had to stand still just because I exist.

Other than that, I enjoyed the movie.

I haven't seen the Barbie movie. I would be on #TeamOppenheimer, but still haven't exactly see that one either yet.

Maybe another interpretation of the above would be the attachment theory one. A mother has provided the safe base, so that the child is now able to go off and explore the world without fear. The child can look back to the mother, who has not come along and see the distance they have travelled alone.

On a side note: I downloaded Strava two days ago on the 29th and have been tracking my walks, ( not total steps). I've walked 20.64km = 12.8 miles so far.

Watch Homeward Bound in the mean time.

We loved going to Blockbusters with my aunt to see all the movies we could pick out. I still remember the trailer for Erin Brockovich showing on the screen and they would always have haagen dazs ice cream too.

I haven't seen the Barbie movie yet, but I want to! Maybe once it's on PPV.

Oh man this watermelon I bought yesterday is like the tastiest one ever mmmmm. It's so funny - I used to detest this fruit, for oodles of years. I started actually like it only a few months ago or so.

I miss going to Blockbuster, too! Now it's like there are just too many choices with all the streaming services. With Blockbuster, you were limited to what they had there and that was in stock.

I don't think drano needs to be refrigerated.
No idea what the first bit was about. I worry about you

I finished weaving in the ends of sister's Christmas afghan today, and packed it up to take to post office tomorrow morning. I've already started a duplicate that I'm keeping for myself because both h and I loved the original one so much.

I gotta say, one of my favorite pbs cartoons, mostly for the punny name, is Donkey Hodie. Theres an orange fluffy on it, not the donkey, who acts like a specific human character in his motions, i cant remember who it is. But its definitely a ripoff!

ETA - googled it. I remember now. Snaggle Tooth from the Soupy Sales Show!
