My 2 trips to Switzerland did not include any cooling options. It was so bad on one of the trips that I bought a fan.

My house in USA has a programmable thermostat. It's based on temp in the house. And we can adjust it as needed on the fly for the transition period. Otherwise, I set it for heating up to a point in the winter and cool to a point in the summer and depending on other factors, like cooler at night.

My house is over 100 yrs old and I have separate systems. I do have smart thermostats (because I had the whole house rewired to allow it) but each system has its own thermostat and has to be turned on or off on its own. I have 2 separate a/c systems one for each floor and a boiler heats the whole building. (Rewiring was a manageable pain to deal with, but changing the duct work would have meant basically a gut rehab)

I've basically been living in hell for over a year. so much is going on/has gone on, and I have been getting triggered all over the place, and this most recent trigger surprised me and brought up a few memories, one being rather significant. I really hadn't thought much of this incident (that happened many years ago), but when I do, I blame myself because I was wasted, and didn't tell him no,

Hugs, Velcro, I'm sorry you're still struggling so much and that you were triggered. And please try not to blame yourself--if you were wasted, you couldn't really consent.

I hope things get better for you...

Yes, our houses were really not built for hot weather. 20 years ago it was not the norm that you'd have long, hot Summers, but winters were cold. So we have heating, but in Summer a fan would do.

Now, it's different, but laws do not allow you to just install AC, so we either go via ground or people get portable AC units. I'm more surprised you managed to find a fan while it's hot tbh.

We can control the thermostat for heating, and somewhat for cooling, but cooling is very limited and it's certainly not the standard, normally you can only make it warmer, not colder.

Funnily enough, central airing is now the standard here, it's called controlled ventilation. It's just not cold air, but you do not have to open windows ever if you do not want to.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been going through such a difficult time. You've been dealing with a lot of pain and challenges, and it's understandable that you're feeling overwhelmed and triggered by past memories.

Are you still In therapy? You deserve kindness and compassion as you navigate through this.

I left a negative review rating for F. Never did it with Rob. I have a strong inkling he will know it was me, though I did not leave a name.

My review reflected my honest experience though. Six plus months on I do feel harmed by working with him and his non replies.

I’m watching a HBO documentary called Nuclear family. It’s about a family court case with home videos. It was sad for all of those involved, especially the daughter who missed out on a relationship with her father.

Possible trigger:

So I've been off junk food again since what, Saturday, and today I am feeling pretty good. The 'sugar fog' has finally lifted from my brain. H bought a cheesecake the other day and I haven't had a single bite! It is just easier to not taste it at all. Today he bought some chocolate easter eggs while he was out on a job and asked if he needs to hide them. I said no, as long as you don't bring home Reeses, I can ignore it! I'm working through the 'how to get started' list of stuff my temp sponsor in OA sent me.

I'm also not really feeling angry at L anymore. I guess the sugar fog lifting has a lot to do with that. Still a little hurt but that will fade with time.

Well done Art! You're making some positive changes and that's great progress! And it's understandable that your emotions towards L are evolving as well. Give yourself time to heal and focus on your own growth. Keep up the good work!

Sorry for the typos on my posts. I find it hard to type properly on a good day, but am even worse when I use a phone to reply.

Thanks guys. I managed to share it with my therapist tonight. I wrote it out, folded it into a tiny paper rectangle and made her leave the room to read it. It took a long time to get me out of flashback mode, and there is such a LONG road to go on. Just for that. Not to mention the 5 million other things that I am trying to deal with as well. All alone, as my best friend is in active addiction right now and just isn't nor can't be there for me. And I just feel more and more distant with college friends. There is so much they don't know, and I don't want to share with them. Besides my therapist, I am alone.

It's brave of you to share your feelings with your therapist. Perhaps there may be other resources available to help you cope with what you're going through, do you have a counselling department at college?

I deleted the google review in the morning, he might have seen it but it was before he had time to reply to it.

In the grand scheme of things it really doesn’t matter.

I have grand dreams, but all I do is just climb into bed when I get home.

I feel an obsessive urge to possess a teapot, does anyone own one and use it regularly?

I have used mine a few times. I needed a cozi to keep the tea hot and found it works very well.

My primary issue is i am not primarily a tea drinker! But i feel it would behoove me to be so.

I drink a lot of tea but I make it in a Keurig, my mom bought it one time when she was visiting so she could make her coffee pod thingies like 4 years ago and I've been using it with teabags instead of a coffee pod ever since. i also bought a little container thing with mesh sides/bottom that you can put loose tea in, that fits in place of a pod. I make my prickly pear tea in that.
