I'm thinking about ordering myself the series Mom on DVD. I love that show and can't find it in reruns anymore (on the channels I get, anyway).

I’m watching mom right now on CMT but I have that channel through Hulu Live.

Speaking of Mom, I’m currently watching the episode where she starts Law School and in the beginning the professor said something along the lines of “At the end some of you won’t be here” and he threw the book down on the desk.

I immediately thought of Stopdog during that scene. The professor on the show is not mean. He just doesn’t sugarcoat.

This is how I was taught and, while not exactly fun, quite useful for the practice of law:

I cant believe i never saw that movie. I was certainly aware of it. I had these horrible blinders. Not for girls, not for italians, not for me.

I feel like I’ve seen that movie. Maybe in bits and pieces but it looks familiar.

They made a tv show after the movie - I think houseman played kingsfield there too - "you come in with a mind full of mush and you leave thinking like a lawyer"

The character of Kingsfield was not warm and fuzzy but neither was he mean

Probably telling about the difference in our personalities is that when I saw it -It made me want to go to Law School even more.
I guess kind of like people who watch war movies and want to go be soldiers. Or that one therapist I hired who despite being Jewish, said she wanted to be a nun after watching the nun's story because everyone had to love nuns and she wanted to be loved.

I think they're still putting on a Midsummer night's Dream

I went to an online poetry reading tonight given by a poet whose classes I have really enjoyed.

Poetry can be heavy, but I didn't expect a foray into my most triggering topic.

Possible trigger:

I think they're still putting on a Midsummer night's Dream

So, I was in an elementary school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream in 5th grade and played Titania. A guy I had a crush on was Bottom, and they had him in a papier mache donkey mask. So my 5th-grade self had to stroke the mask and proclaim my love for him. It was an experience.
