Thanks for the reframe, Artie.

I kind of needed that.

It's supposed to rain this afternoon and cool things down again for a bit. I hope the rain starts sooner than that. it's not even 10am yet, it's already 102F outside and 85F inside my house even with the portable a/c unit. Ugh!! Yesterday when we were looking at cars outside, I told h that standing in the shade with an occasional breeze was cooler than inside our house. Update, btw, we did buy a car yesterday. a 2018 Hyundai. paid a little more than I'd wanted to, but it has only 36,500 miles on it so it's worth it. H test drove it all over the place, including on the highway and he is happy with it. We still ended up paying less than what h had originally been thinking about paying, so that makes me happy. We won't get it until maybe Tuesday, because they had just gotten it on the lot the night before and it hadn't gone through their detailing or whatever yet so that still has to be done. I'll wait for it to be all pristine.

Eta - day 7 exercise in the books!

Congrats on your new arrival, Artie! The Hyundais are pretty good in my limited zipcar experience.

Re the CKD - Are you taking any over the counter supplements? The dr took my mom OFF all the carp my brother was making her take, and it was like a miracle recovery. Of course, the dr blamed ME for pushing them on her, wtf. Plus she used to eat bacon and sausage like it was her dang job. And chicken wings.

Im watching La Forza del Destino on pbs. So Pavarotti never did this opera because it was considered cursed, a baritone once died during it. Cuz i was googling to see if he had. I love the internet.

I have started to go on night time walks as part of a task for Artist's Way. I mistakenly thought this would help with my endeavour to move my body more. Each stroll is about 2 miles. Good job done, I thought. Turns out this is half of what is recommended every day!! Every day! Half!! Who the hell am I, Linford Christie?! I mean, I guess I am moving 2 miles more than I was, but I am going to need more legs at this rate. I am swimming every day because Scotland is hitting a heatwave of 17 degrees, but the water is brutally cold so it's hard to swim more than 0.5 mile.

Moo - i love artist's way! Thats partly why i ordered my steno books, to make it easier for me to do my morning pages.

Two miles is fantastic. You will be up to 4 in no time. Ha ha heatwave of 17. You cant fool me.

Oooo Artist's Way! Do you always do your morning pages in the morning? I often do mine later in the day and I think I am missing part of the point. I am too hungry and vague in the morning though, it doesn't feel part of my natural pattern to do them then.

The medical fun never ends but that just means I'm still alive so I'm grateful for that. But boo more doctor appointments.

Hugs, Artie. Hope the kidney issues can be sorted out OK.

Last day at Dr. T's old office today. Struggling some. Didn't help at all that I went to the restroom after I left his office, then when I was walking to the elevator, saw him close the door to the waiting room. I overheard something that suggested they were packing up the waiting room, he seemed to see me, then shut the door quickly without, say, waving or anything. Maybe he just didn't want to distress me, but it felt awkward. I sent a brief email about it--also wanted to make sure he didn't think I was spying on him (I just had to pee! And wanted to wipe off my face from crying, as I was heading somewhere after).

But he also had to cancel Wednesday, because of move stuff, and shifted me to Thursday instead of Friday. So we have one less session this week than usual, and it's going from today till Thursday. I know it's not rational, and I understand cognitively what's going on. but I'm feeling a bit abandoned.

I flew cross country to home yesterday. From the in flight entertainment I chose to watch Freud’s Last Session in homage to ex-hankster. Pretty decent. Freud and CS Lewis debate the existence of God while unveiling each other’s sexual peccadilloes..

Got home to a malfunctioning AC courtesy of the pet sitter, who also left fast food trash lying around, tried to feed new cat McDonald’s hamburger, and generally did not clean up after herself—there were fast food leftovers in the fridge and dirty clothes that did not belong to me in the bathroom.

Needless to say she will not be hired again. (This was the third time she worked for me. No signs of trouble before.)

Finally cooled down some outside - 84 F out there, but 87 F inside my house!! Boo. I opened all the windows as soon as I finished work (because of HIPAA I can't have open windows while working). It's so much more livable in here now. The new a/c unit gets put in tomorrow. It's been a long, hot, uncomfortable few days.

Way to go on the exercise! And, thanks! We hopefully pick it up on Tuesday (it hadn't been detailed/cleaned or whatever yet cuz they'd just gotten it in).

the CKD - interestingly enough, I was telling my Mom about it this morning, and she said that HER numbers are off as well and she was told she has stage 3A as well. There's no history in our family of kidney disease that she knows of, seems kinda strange though that both of us have it. And she's super-duper-overly-healthy as far as her eating habits, unlike moi. There must be a hidden family history that she isn't aware of.

Anyway I was doing some reading today about foods to avoid and chocolate is one of them.

Well, I wanted to get off sugar again anyway....

Ugh to the state of your house. Hope New Cat is OK.

And interesting about Freud's last session.

Thanks, LT. I'm sure they will, I'm looking forward to meeting with a dietician and figuring out how I should be eating. Time for a fresh start. Again.

I guess the part of you who feels abandoned is not the same part who understands what's happening. Assuming the part who feels abandoned is a younger part, she probably needs some help to understand what's happening and to develop her sense of stability and continuity - just like a child needs. Maybe your cognitive part can help her, hopefully with some help from Dr T.

Couch Workout Club Day 1

I went for a 20 minute walk around the block this morning, and then tagged my core workout on the end.

Thanks, Comrade. I know what I should do is talk to that part. I'm just not so good at doing so yet--might need more training from R on that! This is all just hitting me hard, and I feel adrift.

One difference when he was supposed to move a month ago is that my last in-person session was earlier in the week, then we had a virtual session (while I was out of town) that Thursday, which is when he found out the move had to be postponed. Well, he learned just before that session. But I think it was the fact that I had the last in-person session, then knew I was meeting with him 2 days later. Plus had other stuff to occupy me. Now till Thursday feels like eternity.

I imagine he's annoyed at my emailing, too.
