For those who watch in treatment, did you see Laura's supposed 'last' session the other night?
I wanted Paul to hug her so bad and say no don't go! Probably because that is what I'd want from my T. It is interesting to see a depiction of the therapist's side of the feelings. We never really get to see that part as clients. At my session tonight, I feel like asking T, so do you ever worry I'm not coming back? Do you get upset and cry like I do? Or do you say 'oh good, I'm almost free'...giggle. Two sessions ago, I was so defensive towards T and I told him not to worry that when the time comes to end therapy, "I'd kick him to the curb". Inside my head I was saying to myself 'take it back quick'...instead I cried. I've never seen him get even close to teary during any of our sessions.

I can't watch the show anymore since it is no longer available online, but I like to read what people say to catch me up!
My T has cried several times with me in session. He's very empathetic. I'm not sure how I'd react if the T seemed cold and showed no emotion. Recently, my T told me he had really been worried about me after our last session, and that made me feel good. He'd never told me that before. In the first three weeks of In Treatment that I saw, Paul didn't really seem that warm or expressive. In fact, I have memories of him seeming to "argue" with his clients a lot, as if he is at odds with them. At the end of week 3, he really seemed to be falling apart. I wonder, is that translating into more emotion for him in his session? Is it leaking out?

I think it was in the preview for next week that Paul is seen telling Laura that they're going to get to know each other. I really hope it's going to turn out to be a dream. I'd rather see someone be ethical.
Did you see what happened last night with Alex? That was shocking. It moved my husband to yell at Alex for being such an Alpha male. |

I watched it. My littles came out where he was hugging her at the door and it looked like they were going to kiss for a moment! My littles started screaming at the TV "DON'T DO IT MR THERAPIST". My roommate was very confused.

its scripted TV for one...plus the T has the personality of a bowel movement in my opinion....then again I hate TV anymore....I miss the days before "reality TV", when shows just entertained you...god i must be getting old...

"In Treatment" isn't reality TV. It is a TV drama.
I rather like Paul. I like that he is human and struggles. I do see warm sides to his personality. He wraps blankets around them if they are cold, gets them water (or coffee!). I do think he demostrates caring. But there is no doubt that he is struggling. |
