Has a therapist ever said "I want to look after you properly" or anything like that?
And would you think thats a good sign, or ?

Mmm...

Are those the exact words?

I'm not sure if that would mean the T wants to wrap you up in cotton wool, or take complete responsibilty for you. Or is it just that the T is trying to reassure you that they will do their best for you?

I would go with your gut feeling on this Fuzzy. I want to

I agree with pegasus! can you ask for more of an explanation - just to secure boundaries and safety?

... sigh... only in my fantasies I want to

What they might do instead of saying the words is to show they care with their actions: being consistant in the way they are with you, being reliable with appointments, and showing a postive and caring regard for you in session, offering between session contact, etc.

I think I would love to hear those words....but if I was confused about what T meant, I would ask.

I think it would depend on the context of the conversation, but they sound quite caring and concerned to me, like your T is worried about you.

When I have been doing really poorly and felt very alone, at times my T has said, "I want to take care of you" or "I want to comfort you." Such statements are very powerful to me because I've never felt like I deserved to be taken care of.

I hope you can figure out how the words make you feel.

(((Fluffy)))),
I agree with the others when they say to ask your T what was meant. To me, those words sound like your T is very protective of you Take care.
