Ok ok - so it does appear to be an armadillo... but yes this means I'm looking up close and personal because she sent it home with me =) She also sent home with me the same crystal she sent with me the last time she left. =) =) and yes, i cried most the way home. *Sheepish grin*.

Right when I went in I picked up the *armadillo* (aardvark status lost) and curled up on the couch (i have CRAMPS - don't mess with me) and she said "Well, I'm glad you like that thing." Heh. So the lil's held on to him the whole session and messed with his fur - he is a more odd creature than I remembered. At the end of the session she told me to pick out which crystal I wanted - and I started to panic. I finally stuttered "I could just care of this guy". She said "Oh I thought I'd send him with you as well, since the littles seem to have taken to him so well." Aardvarks R Us - T outta here I think she said several other things about the armadillo, but the lil's were so happy, nary a word is remembered.

I did not, however, give over what I had written about her being gone and the effects of that on me. Some how it didn't seem the right time.

OH and the BEST NEWS... I had to abandon the "drop going away card on desk and run" since she wouldn't let me out of her sight. So i handed it to her and she was DELIGHTED. She opened it and loved the lil's picture, talked about the palm tree that was drawn and said there is one there just like it, and that she hopes to stay in a hut just like the one drawn (tho i think that was just special for the littles, cuz she did mention a hotel). ok - so the BEST part was that she said *She's taking it with her!!!*. Aardvarks R Us - T outta here The lil's are so happy. that was what it was meant for. oh and she was able to translate my spanish greeting on the back heh. ok ok ... i'll end this very sappy post now and show you the pic you've all been waiting for (as well as some fun facts).

Aardvarks R Us - T outta here

"Armadillos are one of the oldest surviving mammals; they have been on earth for about fifty-five million years. Its ancestor, the glyptodon, arrived long after the extinction of the dinosaurs. This creature was about six and one-half to thirteen feet in length. Today’s small nine-banded armadillo measures up to thirty-three inches in length including its tail, and can weigh around seventeen pounds.

Common Nicknames include:
Hillbilly Speed Bump, Possum on the half-shell, Grave Robbers, "turtle-rabbit" (Aztec version), Pillbugs on steroids"

Heh... well... the squirrle that sits next to it had a much longer explanation - and quite funny. The armadillo only got "well, it came with the beanie babies, I think."

I think t is about 61-64, has shock white hair, and wears wild colored clothes.... and wild colored abstracts all over. Oh and a canister of Mccaw feathers on the desk =)

Kiya, that sound really nice. Especially where you were able to give her the card and not run out the door. I would have had trouble remaining there while she opened it. When I gave my T a Christmas card I handed it to her, said Merry Christmas and left. The other thank you card I mailed. These I guess are adult versions of the drop and run. Actually, maybe not. To me both of these communications were intended to be for her personally (small gifts), not some therapeutic exercise to be recorded in my medical chart. I hope if I ever feel the need to request my chart I won't find these items in there.

I'm glad you have the armadillo to play with. During my last session, things were so difficult I focused and played with bottle of water that I had brought with me. A fuzzy stuffed animal would have been a lot nicer Aardvarks R Us - T outta here

((((((((((((Earthmama))))))))))))))) I will be in here a lot while t is gone - there will be no way to contact her at all for 11 days.

(((((((((((((Chaotic)))))))))))))))))) Yeah, i tend to have stuffies on hand - there's a soft pony that usually lives in my bag on T day. I would have dropped the lil arrow looking card on her desk, but I couldn't get it out of my bag in time! And at the end of the session she did the whole exchange of the cyrstal and stuffy, so it was appropriate to pull out the card then - lol - it was like christmas exchanges =)

Sorry your session was so hard =( *hands over armadillo for next session*.

Kiya,
No wonder you had to have him (he or she?), he's adorable!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!! It sounds like your last session before your T went away was attuned, which is always the best case scenario -- it makes the time without a session more bearable (at least it does for me). Hope to chat with you soon. Until then . . .

This is a beautiful scarlet mccaw. I also have a lot of feathers since there is a mccaw house here in town. T might in fact see some of these beautiful birds where she will be.

Soli - yes you're right about the connection. I too am glad it was such a good meeting. She also gave me a hug at the end. Which helped me feel not so bad with all the info i had given about my housing situation.... i'm not a piece of dirt. Hope to catch up with you soon, too.

Ya me too, when things get heavy in therapy all I have to hang onto is my bottle of water I brought. Some thing soft and fuzzy would be nice. Sounds like you had a great session!

...has been named Benedict. =)
Benedict has been given the house tour and fully understands why i need to move out. So he and i have been looking at all the sites that the housing advocate has told us about and have narrowed some down. T had me call the advocate again to check in on a time line - but there really isn't one. She said that it takes time to get accepted to the program - and then it could move really fast. She said at that point be ready for her to call me up and say Kiya I'm on my way to pick you up - we have an appointment. So until then my job is to sit with Benedict and work on my skills of patients. HA!

Thanks Miss!! The advocate said she'd bring me my first plant =) SO EXCITED!!

LOL yes PINK - i can confirm that Benedict is fiesty! He's managed to tunnel right through all the piles of chaos and made himself a nest in there. I can't see him, but I can hear his claws shreading more nest for him. I guess he found his home.

As for me, I am still looking. The advocate asked me to look into ssi/ssd and I am totally clueless. I think I will be seeing her Monday (may drag Benedict with me) in between yoga and the osteo dr. In the meantime, I have been seeking out some of my stuff and packing it (covertly) so that it doesn't become commondeered into "mom's stuff" as it has a bad habit of doing.

Hey! I just had a thought.... I wonder if i can keep Benedict with me through the osteo apnt and maybe that will help the system not trigger into survival mode. The whole office knows i'm crazy by now, so i don't have to hide it any more i guess. Tho the phrase T uses is "functional with issues" lol.

I think taking Benedict with you to your appointment is a great idea Aardvarks R Us - T outta here

I always, always have my marble in my pocket (of course, it's a little smaller than your sweetie!) and it makes me feel more secure when I'm scared.

((((((((((((((((((((((((( kiya ))))))))))))))))))))))) Good luck at your appointments. You're doing such a great job.

(((EM))))) yeah I think i will. Owlet seemed much calmer earlier today with Benedict around.

There's been a mood/part switch and Benedict has for the moment been abandoned downstairs in the dark with the spanish homework. Thanks for the reminder to go get him. Current part (i'm just the narrator here) is in a foul disposition and already in trouble. But she's processing hard emotions about t being gone and the things the MD told us the other day on the phone. Wish us luck - current part is considering ending all sessions with all three dr;s and just surviving on her "own" with the bottle. Aardvarks R Us - T outta here

miss - there's a war going on in here. owlet likes to hang on to benedict. but the current manifestation is constantly breaking all the safety codes and glares at benedict (i know - a stuffed animal) and says "don't look at me like that", like there's a camera in his lil black teardrop shaped eyes that goes straight to t. this part may in fact cancel all the appointments; with T with MD, with DO.... total renegade and messing everything up...
