Has anyone gone in for intensive treatment?

My T and Psych want to send me to an intensive treatment facility to help with my treatment.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has gone through this.

Hi,

I'm in intensive treatment I do therapy with my PDoc and see her twice a week. I also go to a day treatment program 5 days a week. We do group therapy there (DBT, process groups).

I recommend you do it if you can. I'm actually seeing myself change.

When I was hospitalized 2 years ago I was in intensive treatment on a daily basis for 2 weeks.

I do recommend it because it did help me cope alot better when I came
home, that and finding the right medication in which has finally happened
in the last few months.

Its the best I have felt in years. So I say go for it and get all the help you
can......hang in there and don't give UP!

Good Luck......

If I can come up with the money I will be going to intensive treatment out of state. It is a four week program. I am excited, nervous, and scared all at the same time.

Being scared and nervous are natural feelings. Being excited proves to yourself you really want to help yourself and improve your life, which is good....

Maybe you could check around to see if there are any programs in your area rather
than going out of state, hence saving money..?

What about Insurance or assistance.....? Maybe a 2 week program instead of a
4 weeks...?

There is no inpatient treatments available in my state. And the intensive outpatient ones are not specifically targeted for PTSD, it's a combination of everything.

I am having my T and pdoc do more research, because I am starting to have reservations about this place out of state.

If anyone knows of any good PTSD treatment centers, please let me know.

Thanks.

Are there any Mental Health Hot Lines in your area...?

Yellow Pages maybe....

You could also google and search the net for your area...

This just came to mind...

Thanks for all your suggestions and support.

I have decided to stay here and do EMDR with one of my T's. I feel good about this decision.

I'll keep you posted on how things are going.
