Over the weekend my T moved into another room in the house where she works. I haven't seen the room yet (I will tomorrow) but she tells me it is bigger. I don't know why but I think since it's a more out of the way room, I'll feel safer and be able to do more trauma work. I'm not sure why the room she is in would make a difference, but it does. At least she didn't move out of the house (it's an old Victorian house with 4 or so offices). I like the house very much. This room will be a bit different because the beautiful, old wood is painted white (to make it brighter, I think). I think she's keeping all the same furniture though. Of course, if it's bigger she might add something. Hmmmm. It's about 5 feet away from her old office. lol Hope I don't get lost.

I hope you like the new space.

When I went to my T appointment on the 24th of Jan(saturday) She used a different room (weekend room). The weekend room had a window...hers doesn't (the weekday room). I had mixed feelings about the weekend room, which I didnt share with her. It was really bright in the weekend room.... for some odd reason I like the dimness of the weekday room. I guess in a way it feels like I am hiding in the weekday room. In the weekend room I felt like the spotlight was on me....sorry minor ramble...

Anyways, let us know about the new space

Thanks, lifelesstraveled. I understand completely how you feel about the weekend room. I prefer the ambiance of a dim lit room myself. My former T (I was a patient for 7 years) had no windows in his office, just a tiny skylight. I always felt safe in there. I think I will safe in the new room mostly because I feel so safe with T.

Come back and tell us how you like the new room!

My T's office is literally right off the waiting room - and then there is a hallway that two other T's have offices in. It would be nice to be a little more "tucked away"

I've been feeling anxious all day about going to therapy tomorrow. I think I feel this way because I know that we'll be doing lots of trauma work in that new room. It might also be because I was seeing T on Mondays and now I'll be seeing her Tuesdays and Fridays. I have also felt like I was forgetting something today. Argh! Anxiety about therapy.

(((((earthmama))))) I will let you all know how it is after tomorrows appointment. I think being tucked away will be nice and lead to more work being done on my part.

T's new digs are awesome! It's really big compared to the other office. I really feel like I can stretch out in there now. She even bought a new ceiling fan for the office. It's gorgeous. Makes the office seem like a tropical retreat. And we even had time to talk about what I was there for.
