is the greatest man on the planet. When I was in the wretched funk a few days ago, my mom kinda freaked out. She was asking my dad (step-dad but whatever) what they were going to do. He said "Rose Marie... we're gonna exactly what we've done for the past 17 years. If everything in that boy's life has been flipped upside down then we're gonna be the one stable thing he can count on cause by God he's MY son and I'm not gonna let him down ever." Could I ask for a better dad? He's been more of a dad to me than my real dad has was. Brought tears to my eyes when mom told me this. Just thought I'd share.

Ryan, that is such a wonderful story to share. I can really relate. My step-dad is really supportive too, but so is my real dad. I'm exceptionally lucky in the dad department right now.

I wish everyone could have dads like that.

Ryan, I think this is so wonderful for you to have him in your life. Treasure him always. My Dad is a great man also and I would walk through fire for him as I know he would do the same.

Ryan, you are very lucky to have him! My husband adopted our kids when they were little, and he is the same way with them. Always there!! You are blessed to have him!

That is so awesome for you that you have that strong of a support system. I don't have a 'father' figure, but I have my Mom and her sister, and they are totally awesome.

Thanks guys. I'd have to say that in the parenting department I'm very blessed. After years of waiting, my real dad has finally become someone I can be proud of. Granted, he irritates me sometimes and I've got some anger issues to work out with him, but he's been there for me for the last 8 years. I've got a killer step-mom, and yall already know about mom and dad. I'm not trying to rub it in anyone's face who doesn't have what I have... I'm just acknowledging my blessings.
