Hi, I have a nephew who is totally obsessed with a girl, to the point it is unhealthy. This young man loses sleep, his grades have dropped, he freaks if he cannot be in almost constant contact with her. I realize that young people that think they are in love go through something like this, but it is beyond that. It is a totally inappropriate situation. He says if something happens to her and or her parents find a way to keep them apart, he will kill himself. So far, counselors haven't helped. They say he'll out grow this. They don't live with him and see what I see. No, I am not over reacting. I need someone to give me some advice please.
