I was recently dumped by the most wonderful person, as strange as that sounds (him being wonderful, I mean). He says he can't handle being close and intimate with someone. He says he get's freaked out when he lets people in. I believe that most of these issues could be traced back to his mother and I want to help him, but I don't know how. Advice, comments, suggestions?

I know it's a difficult thing to be dumped but that's just what he did. I think the best thing to do is to keep some distance from him if he does not want to be with you, sorry to say. I have done the same thing in wanting to help someone who did not really want me and it ended up with me getting very hurt, just to caution you. When a person wants to be with someone they make it pretty clear and he is not doing that. I would try to get my mind off of him and go out and have a good time somewhere. Maybe go out with others. If he wants you in the future he will come to you to be sure. That's my opinion.
