christmas time will never be the same for me or my family... especially my aunt and uncle, because they had a baby girl called Anne around holloween, about a week or two ago she was diagnosed with a disease known as severe Aicardi syndrome, meaning the bridge connecting the top two ventricals of the brain didnt form, the lesions on the retinas in her eyes didnt form, it caused fits, called infantile spasms, and some skeletal malformations.

its been a very hard month for us all, but then at 11:30 am she passed away. every 25th if december is the date that we wont celebrate christmas anymore, its the date that a baby daughter, cousin and niece and granddaughter will be remembered.

the last time i seen my uncle cry was in 2005 at my grandads funeral, and my brother was really shaken at the site of him in tears, he was up before me, and i i couldnt even force myself to go up to his house.
but its better she went on.

she had to live with a oxygen mask, and was being monitered constantly. we dont know if she was even in pain, but its better this way. its better than her growing up taking fits, and being blind, and in pain. its better that she didnt have to live.

i just needed to say this but i couldnt tell my friend and ruin her christmas too.
Thanks for this!

Niamhh~

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss...for you all.
This post made me cry.

Yes. It is better that she is not suffering any longer.
She is now in peace. Rest her beautiful soul.

I am very sad for you. Sorry it had to go the way it did. I hope that in future years you will be able to celebrate Christmas and remember the little angel who will always be part of your family, and would want you to be happy on this day. This year, may you all find comfort in each other's company.

I am so sorry for your loss ((((((( niamhh ))))))) and that of your family.

It is so much harder when it is the passing of a little angel like this one. I know deep in my heart that there were real angels there when she went and they took her into the love of heaven where there was no more suffering and her little body was perfect.

My heart goes out to you and your family in this terribly sorrowful time.

thanks

the funeral was today, and there wasnt a dry eye in the place.
it was literally heart breaking to see the family. she looked like a liitle glass doll in her coffin. and when we all went back to the house the other little girl who is coming 4 asked " did anne get her wings and go to the angels yet?"
my other aunt had to leave the room.
