My friend (male) is having some problems .. He is quite a cynical person, who doesn't trust anyone but then if he finds a friend, he gets attached to her/him alot .. If his friend gets busy somewhere, he feels like she/he left him .. He is not a social person .. Many of his close friends are on internet!

Yesterday, he was asking me that how can we forget a person we like alot!? Does making oneself busy help every time? He has also a problem of self-injury .. When he gets depressed, he tends to injure himself .. Now this problem is projected towards hurting & injuring others especially those who have hurt him in the past!

I m myself a student of Psychology Major .. I have worked with him alot.. as the guy is facing alot of problems in his life ..

Kindly, give me some good suggestions which can help him !!

I would suggest that he sees a therapist. Is he on any type of medication? When you say hurting and injuring others, do you mean in a physical way? If so, you should be careful so he doesn't turn his anger on you! If it's physical, advise him he needs help and if he refuses then you should have someone intervene with him.

thanks alot guys for replying!

Yeah! i suggested him to see a psychologist / psychiatrist .. He even went there but then left it after 3/4 sessions because he thought that they weren't helping him .. As i said, he is a cynic person, doesn't trust anyone and looks for an immediate solution to his problems .. He was prescribed for medication .. and he is using them !

No! he didn't hurt anyone .. Its just that, his thoughts of self-harming are now projecting towards injuring & hurting others .. they r just thoughts right now ..
