My mother used to be all nice to me when I was little but now that I am older, I can't show any sign of my own personality or disagreement or else I get in trouble. My mom doesn't understand either that what voice someone has, my voice automatically mimics. So when she has an attitude in her voice i get an attitude in my voice. She use to slap me but she has stopped that now, but that doesn't mean she has stopped using verbal abuse. All I ever hear from her is how irresponsible I am and how stupid I am and how if I could be like her students or the youth group I would be perfect. She doesn't understand the kind of person I am. It's like since I am not like her I am automatically "A stupid biotch" (in her words)....sometimes I just want to run away....but if I run away she will find me again then the beatings will come back....Why can't she understand who I am! I just want a mother like everyone around me does. One who is kind and caring and understand that they are different. I even try to act like the girl she wants me to be but it only lasts for a couple of weeks....I don't know what to do anymore....can someone please help?

I am sorry you are having such a tough time with your Mom. I hope that things will get better for you. It's probably a hard thing for your mom to accept that you are growing up. I will pray for your relationship to improve. Hang in there.

I know how that feels, to be unable or unwilling to live up to the expectations of one's parents. Have you tried talking to her? Or telling her that her actions and constant ridicule are hurtful?

we have no counselor at our school at all. The only person I would be able to talk to always calls in the parent and that would turn nasty fast
