Thanks for your responses, sanityseeker. Yes, i am very thankful for everything my Mom does for me. She's great. I don't know where i'd be without her, i'd probably be a lot worse off. I will most definitely take her out to lunch. We usually take turns taking each other out to lunch or dinner every so often anyway.

I lost my mother when I was 28 (am now 55) and hardly a day goes by that I don't think of her and wish I could pick up the phone to talk with my greatest supporter. Sounds like you have wonderful relationship with your mother. Nice to hear you charish it. You are blessed. Be well.

Sorry things didn't work out between you two. I think it will benefit you to go to therapy to at least talk about what happened and not just what the end result was but how you can learn more about yourself through this experience, and I think you've already learned a lot. Things rarely just end with no contact so you might want to consider how you will deal with the emails and phone calls from him or what you want to do when its you that might want to contact him. Emotions will get to you also as you have been concerned about not hurting him, thats nice of you. You will still care even if it is for the best. I would encourage you both to take the high road in this difficult time and not play the blame game. I know, easier said than done. Do update us on how things are going for you.
