This is disturbing. I can't distinguish whether I lied or not. Yesterday some AT&T woman came to the door, and I opened it. She tried to pronounce my dad's name, and ask who it is. I said it's my dad's. Then she asked if he's available. I turned my head and looked over to his room, and I turned back and said "he's not available. What is this about?" Then she said something about optic cable, and I said "we're not interested" 'cause I know she's trying to sell some service. So she just went on to ask what cable company we have, and I answered. Then she went away. After she left, my little sister asked me why I said dad's not available. And I was like, why do you ask? And she said, I don't know, it's ok the lady left already. And at first I didn't think anything about it until she said it's ok the lady left already. Then I realized she was implying that I lied, but I have no problem whether the lady left or not, if she was still there I'd still say he's not available because he's not available to talk. Our family's Asian. My parents aren't that good at English. I take care of everything that has English, and my parents take care of things that's associated with our native language. She said that he was available 'cause he's at home. And I said I never said he's not at home, but he's not available to talk, what can he do? He can come out I guess but then he'll just have difficulty talking to her. I asked my sister what would she want me to do? Say that he's available and call him out to try to talk to her? And she said yea, he was available 'cause he's at home.
So, do you think I lied? I don't know why I feel so upset. I'm not upset with anyone. I just feel upset.

Eh who cares if you lied lol, it's just some lady trying to sell you something dumb. If anything she would probably take advantage of your pop's lack of English and convince him to buy something he doesn't need. Your sister sounds like she's making a big deal out of absolutely nothing, I don't think you lied and I don't think you should be upset if you did, I lie to those annoying door to door sales people all the time.

I should just let it go. Thanks everyone for helping me see it clearer. I really don't know why I wasn't able to distinguish whether I was in the wrong or not. Maybe I was too emotional at the time.
