I see everyone around me in a good solid relationship, but I can never seem to find the right man, or woman, to be in a relationship with because of my anxiety and personality issues. How can I stop being so self-absorbed and just connect with a person I like.

You have to connect with yourself first, be a friend to yourself and doing your own thing and then you will be attractive to the same sorts of strong, whole people. By "own" thing I mean, what are you good at, what do you like, who are you? Get to know yourself, talk to yourself :-) and laugh at yourself and help yourself with your problems (instead of criticizing) and realize that you are you and fine the way you are. If you are comfortable being with yourself, so will other people be.

Hello Honey,
I have to agree with Perna, her wisdom and guidance is genuine and helpful. I really wouldn't say much different. I would add just in case (and this isn't a criticism so please don't take it that way), Focus on you and others, listen to them, make them feel validated and focus on your can do's not your illness or your can't do's. Wish you the best with this, please keep us updated so that we ca help you further if need be, Rhiannon
