I think it is way possible to love more than one person at a time, we all do it every day, the type of love however does vary.
Parental, platonic, romantic. When it comes to romantic love there are people who can be in love with several people at once because romantic is not steadily controled where the others are. just a few thoughts

I agree.. but I dont think its realistic to stay with one person your whole entire life. I think that I have loved 2 people at the same time, but from what I've read.. a lot of people say its not possible.
Maybe a person would love 2 people because neither of them really make them happy... I don't know, I just love hearing other perspectives! ![]()

I understand what you are saying jaikhan but again that isn't controlled. The one you are trying to forget you are in love with, is love. The one you are "falling" in love with is initially a replacement not someone you are in love with.
When replacing someone they are in love with someone is pinning hopes on one they hope will replace the lost one. If that falls by the wayside they move onto the next person without too much of a hitch, which shows that there was no loving attachment there to begin with. But this doesn't include obsession that is not love that is something else again. It is intricate and complex but it isn't actually being in love with two people at the same time. It is waiting to see if this one can replace the last one. That is over simplified but its too complex to go into it any deeper. I agree that humans are not intended to mate for life, that is a church held order which was implimented in the year 300CE. But polygamy was frowned upon because the chappies fighting the crusades felt that it was pagan and heathen to have more than one wife. Have as many mistresses as you choose but marry only one woman. Most marriages failed but because divorce was religiously outlawed people would just live with their next partner without the order of marriage. If you search back into history via some of the ancestry sites you will see that some men had up to 3 or 4 families with women they were not married to. Before the catholic/christian rule pagans married by contract for 1yr and 1 day. If after that time they were not happy they could part ways; if they were happy they renewed the vow they made for a further year and a day. But the church tried hard to stamp that out and insisted that a bride should be a virgin to prove she had not lived by the old path, in other words had not been married according to pagan rites. They even took the rite of renewing vows so that marriage and revowing was seen by their god and so could not be broken. It is interesting how the churches have stolen every single aspect of non-christian life and made it christian; there is not one church law or ritual that has not been taken from pagan rites. This is all historical fact .
