Hello everyone co-worker relationships

I am volunteering at a school as a classroom assistant. The majority of the staff treat me very nicely and visa versa. With the exception of one teacher that will not talk to me or return a smile in the hallway/staff room. I do not recall any arguements...etc since she wont talk to me the most ive said to her is hello...etc.

I dont know why I am choosing to take this interaction at work so seriously. I am letting it stress me out...feeling angry towards her and the situation. I am a very friendly person.

Penny or 2 for your thoughts....

Thanks,

Dub co-worker relationships

One penny thought.....may be that that teacher is having a hard time in their life & just not able to open up at this point in time & it isn't anything to do with you.....but not able to open up to anyone new to them right now. If the teacher is like that with others....maybe just them....otherwise maybe like I said....not in a place to open up to someone new.

It isn't good to be angry with someone who may be having a problem....or feel that it is even you that they are having the problem with.

Friendly people like you find it hard to understand those who aren't that way to people. In my many years of life..I have found many people I have worked with that didn't like coming out of their shell to communicate with anyone....even though they may be teaching class rooms full of students...they can still be very impersonal even in that environment.

Just a penny thought since I haven't seen the teacher or the body language. Try to blow it off.....I am sure that you aren't the problem.

Dublin,

It's hard to say...does she react this way around most people or have you noticed it a specific set of reactions toward you? If she obviously acting this way only with me, I might ask her if I'd done anything to offend to try and open a conversation about it. If she doesn't give me anything, then I know that I've tried and will have to let it go. If she does give me something, then the door is opened for talk.

I wish you well! Good luck on this!
