all i did was ask a close friend if she ever thought about suicide, and then she told her boyfriend and mother. her mother called our school, who told the counselors and all of the teachers, who called my parents, who then sent me to a therapist. I can't talk to anyone about things like that anymore because i am afraid something similar will happen.

by the way, i am no longer friends with the girl who spread it around.

Hi ~ Try to keep in mind that your friend was very CONCERNED about you, and was afraid that you were considering this as an option. I don't think she did this to be hurtful -- she just wanted to be sure that you were okay! You're lucky to have someone who cares that much about you.

I doubt that she would "spread" other things that you told her. It's just that suicide is such a serious subject -- not many people who are considering it have friends who would step in like this friend did for you. She just didn't know if you were serious or not. I hope you can find it in your heart to 'forgive' her.

Take care & God bless. Hugs, Lee

Yeah, today people freak at the mention of that word. You do need to understand WHY they did what they did , and be grateful for their concern. I know it may seem embarrassing right now, but later on, you will appreciate all the concern. Hopefully the therapist realized a mistake had been made sending you to him/her, and assured you of what I said.

Thanks, but I can't forgive her. She has done other things to make it impossible for us to be friends. I understand that she was concerned but the chain of people that it went through was too much to handle at the time.
