I am a mother of a 27 year old who lives five states away and wants me to move my sick husband, bipolar teenage daughter and myself and all our belongings to another town to be closer to him. His father won't even consider the idea so he won't talk to him. It's tearing me apart. I have a 21 year old who is engaged to a girl whose entire family live in the same small town we live in. They'll never move. And if there are eventually grandkids, and I'm in another state...??? I have a 14 year bipolar daughter who has school phobia and is online schooled at home. She is so dysfunctional she can't be in a social situation for longer than two hours. Who is going to care for her as she gets older? I feel terribly stressed by all this and need some advice.

Hello, ruanda. Your post gives the reasons why moving is impractical. Your son should be understanding.

I think for all the reasons you have mentioned, this won't work. I'm sorry your son even asked.
As far as your daughter is concerned, this is a really common worry for a parent of a disabled child. Is she getting social security, and have you linked in with social services agencies that can help you address your fears?

The truth is that you seem to be CONTROLLED by your children and what they want. I think you should control your own life at this point and do whatever you want with it.
