We started counseling today. We have done a single session before and it helped for the time being of course but behavior regressed and patterns re-emerged. There was a huge blow up this past weekend from him becoming insanely jealous (which has never happened before) and I was called named, cussed at etc....

I kicked him out of the room and we are sleeping separately now. Things have happened before but this time it was unacceptable. He has been begging and pleading and I finally agreed to go with him. The therapist agreed that we need to be there but also that he needs to go by himself. Our general communication issues can't be solved if he doesn't work on himself.

So it went pretty well. I am not choosing either side right now - staying together or splitting. He asked me if I wanted this relationship to work and I said I wanted to be happy. Whether that means staying with him or breaking up - it is up to him how I obtain it. Bottom line I will be happy regardless of the means. Wish me luck......
