A normal relationship requires two normal people ... doesn't it?

What do you think?

I think I have a normal relationship with my cat. Others think, because I kiss her on the top of her head, that it's not normal--that I don't treat her as a cat ("an animal").

Who's right?
Thanks for this!

I kiss my dog on the top of the head all the time, because she is so much more than a dog. She is my friend, my confident, my comforter.

"Normal" is subjective. Normal for you is not normal for me. For example, I do laundry on Sunday. I have always done laundry on Sunday, because that's when my mom did the laundry. So that is normal. My friend at work does laundry three times a week. I think she's crazy! Laundry all week? Really? But that's how she does it and always has. So, for her that's normal.

As for your question, I'm thinking you mean "healthy" relationship? That takes work and two people willing to work together.

A normal relationship is when there are 2 people involved that understand, love and care for each other unconditionally.

Usually, they love each others personalities and enjoy each others company on a regular basis.

Ultimately, a normal relationship is just relevant to the 2 people involved and it is between them.

I am the only one I can control so any relationship I am in I am going to declare "normal". The other person's behavior is their problem and if they are not "normal," that does not affect my behavior unless I don't like their behavior or they assault me in some way in which case I would end the relationship so there wasn't one

(((im on the whats normal-for-one isnt normal-for-another side)))

to answer the question on it being two people,
yes that is normal.
more power to ya if you can handle more than one at a time
(((.. but i dont agree with that for me.)))

as to what is "normal"
-i would say the "coupple" in question would have to both agree to the terms of said relationship and fairly follow them.

weather or not either of you considers themselves "normal" doesnt neccesarialy effet the label of a "normal relationship."

seeing as the deffinition is subject to perspective two verry un-normal people could have a perfictly normal relationship.

and that is exactly what i think, (((just sayin :P)))

Sounds like you have been delivered, or are yourself delivering, an ultimatum. I think that non-"normal" people can have a happy relationship if they are willing and thoughtful. I also think it is extremely difficult for anyone to maintain a long-term relationship.

its takes two people to make a relationship work, normal varies from person to person what may be normal to you may be extremely obsurd to someone else.
