I have a younger sibling that suddenly adopted my beliefs and interest in toto when they were an adult, after we had a fight, but without acknowledgment or recognition to me, and acts like they're original even though they're just copying me. Every time we have a family gathering, they're outspoken about these beliefs and interest as if they were their own. It's like I have a ghost trailing me, but I'm made to feel like a ghost because I'm not outspoken and all of my beliefs and so forth are being spouted by my surrogate. Also, I can't go to my favorite social spots since they're there as my surrogate, and I don't like being around them because it's like being around a clone.
Imagine if you were a tiddly winks aficionado since you were a small child, but your sibling suddenly becomes the tiddly winks expert at age 25, acting as though you know diddly about tiddly winks, but not only tiddly winks but every other thing you were ever involved in, on a wholesale basis. Imagine if you believed that the color purple was the coolest color in the world since you were a small child, but suddenly as an adult they wear purple all of the time, trying to make you jealous, and go around saying to everyone how they like purple way more than anyone else likes purple. |

Koko, I can understand why seeing a sibling copying after you might be annoying, but at some point, you have to stop caring what other people do and just focus on you. So your sibling believes (or is pretending to believe) as you do? Be yourself and be confident in yourself and don't worry about the credit for who came up with the belief system. People will like you for you and with either like or dislike your sibling on their own terms.

Hopefully someday I'll have the money to suitably exile myself. In the meantime, all I can do is silently laugh about it.

I would agree that it would be irritating. BUT you have to remember that imitation is the HIGHEST form of flattery -- so if you can look at it like that, she's just trying to be like YOU because she admires you so much.
![]() Either that, or she's just like MY sister and is trying to drive you completely MAD. ![]() God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee |
