I have always been an expressive woman and tend to start good conversations. Yet I create too much power and attention while, even though I am fabulous at starting conversations, my bi-polar sometimes gets me too intense and than I lose myself in it and give my power away. I wish others could comment on this if it has happened to them. This especially deals with the work environment or professional settings, and some face to face gatherings.

I use to be the one that always wanted to be in control.... and I just had to learn to ZIP the LIP and to let others speak 2 times more than I thought I needed too - it worked for ME.

It can be difficult... to not lead the conversation once it's going. I find men don't like women with a lot of questions, even well placed, posed ones.
![]() Allowing at least 7 seconds of silence is a good measure, and will give others time to think and say something...as awkward as it might feel. Yes, I agree with Rhapsody... I used to keep track on a notepad (in meetings) and for each time I wanted to say something, I would put a tally mark down, and then for each 5 marks, I would speak once. ![]()

Socialising?? I don't do that anymore because I feel to inadequate and 'stupid' and ugly. So i stay home and study the cracks in the ceiling!!
Basically, i have become the opposite of what I used to be!! I used to be a secretary in a diplomatic mission and used to attend functions with foreign officials and ministers, then i did real estate and had a great time meeting people and talking with them. my noise has gone..... I have however learnt to speak fluent cat........ meow purrrr (i dont use my claws though....) |
