So I'm trying to write a profile for Yahoo Relationships, and I have absolutely no idea what to write about myself.

I've become a slave to my work and my bills. If I have time to do something, I don't have the money to finance it. If I have the money, I don't have the time. So when it comes to the parts about hobbies and activities, I come up blank. I *used* to ski. I *used* to knit and sew and dabble at cross stich. I *used* to refinish furniture. I *used* to garden (not very good at it though. I get bored with weeding and watering). Used to doesn't cut it. They want to know what you do now. Um, work, avoid work, veg on the couch after I manage to slog through work, sleep, fit in a shower every couple of days, repeat.

As far as writing about something I could add to a relationship, or what I'm good at, I have no clue. All I see are the negatives - lazy, unmotivated, sloppy, boring. I can't even have an intelligent conversation because I'm so afraid of voicing my opinions and views because they're probably "wrong" and "uneducated."

I don't even know what other people see in me that I'm not seeing. If I knew, I could at least think about it and go "Yeah, they're right, I am."

I see a more-messy-than-clean house, a still-untrained dog, two bickering kids, furnishings that say "I'm a male, new college graduate without a job yet." Oh, and I stink at making long-range plans, although I like my friend's view on that. He's not a plan maker either. His take on that is "I've got my surfboard and I'm ready to surf." (Kind of funny that he chooses that phrase, considering he lives in Arizona. hahaha). We're both spur of the moment people. Now, if only he wasn't 9 years younger, lived so far away 3/4 of the year, and is most likely a confirmed bachelor. Trouble creating a profile

Not to mention that I stir up more trouble in here than good and am a pain in the ***.

I need somebody to help put a positive spin on all of this.

Gee, I know that feeling about not being able to think of good things about oneself. Trouble creating a profile

Shirley-- I can think of many good things about you.

One is your writing--- I LOVE the way you write! I feel, when reading your posts that I'm sitting at a table with you sipping tea--I'm right there. You express yourself very well- IMO.

You are a dedicated and loving mother-- that is awesome!

Another good thing that I admire is your courage. You may not see it-- but some people run when faced with changes or accepting that something isn't working and they need to make a change in some way. When faced with a situation of change or not you will jump in and try it--- that takes courage and the want to better ones life-- YOU have that!

Does your profile have to say you do these things presently--- can you word it as things you enjoy--- like--- "I enjoy skiing" and "I've refinished furniture"....... how about movies--- while vegging on the couch-- perhaps you're a movie buff? Instead of saying your not good at making long range plans--- maybe you are a more spontaneous fun type? (some people just aren't long range planning types--nothing wrong with that)

and how about-- you are a homeowner! That is a great quality too-- IMO!!

Well, how's that for starters?

You have many great qualities, I only named a few!

Wow Mandy! Thanks. I don't know what to say about all the compliments. Thanks. Trouble creating a profile I know it's hard for you to post sometimes. It means a lot to me that you did. Trouble creating a profile

I like the idea of using "I enjoy" instead of saying that I haven't done those things in years and years because I can't afford to any more. Trouble creating a profile

(edited for typo)

Ok, here is my input:

Wi_fighter is a strong, independent, fiercely loving mother of two fantastic kids. She is both a terrific friend and a passionate lover (not that I'd know that personally...). Always curious, always willing to try something new, and astonishingly resourceful. Fitness and self-improvement are two big interests, as well as furniture refinishing, gardening, and animals. Though self-sufficient, would like to build a close partnership or friendship with the right man. I am hip, cute, and heck - I'm flat-out sexy. Blah blah blah...

Do you want to try to work any of that in? Trouble creating a profile
