My mom's using crack agian and I offered to pay a 20 on her water bill because I do laundry there alot. Well I couldn't go yesterday because the car was freaking me out, I called and told her and she *****ed me out and hung up on me. She told me to go to the laundromat for now on. Pisses me off that I go out of my way to help her and she acts as though I owe her big time. Maybe she should stop cracking out and pay her own damn water bill. As far as I'm concerned she's my mother and has stole from me many times in the past, and I shouldn't owe her nothing for doing laundry at her house.....stupid.....beeeeeeep.

If it were me, and I realize it's not, I'd take that $20 and pay for the laundromat. By giving her that $20 for the water bill, you've basically given her crack money. From how I'm reading it on this side of the computer screen, you hate that she's using, so why would you enable that behavior?

I think that you're in the right here. You offered out of the goodness of your heart and truthfully I don't think junkies have that quality very often.

$20 is enough for some kind of pick-me-up, I'm sure. So while you think you're doing your mom a favor by paying part of a bill, she probably sees it as $20 extra that she can blow on dope.

The laundromat sounds like a better environment for you and your family anyways.

Desirae, you've done nothing wrong, and I'm sorry your mom is doing crack. I agree that you should let her take care of her own bills (if she doesn't, it's on her), and head to the laundromat. Take a book to read while you wait, or make some new friends.

des, maybe this is a gift in disguise. lotsa young mothers do laundry. maybe you could meet a nearby new friend and not be dependant on your strung out Mom for clean clothes.

I actually do go to the local laundromat here in town. I do like it there, I've met a lot of nice locals there already. I only did laundry at my moms house when I'd go to visit. I figured if I was there I may as well as do a load or to so I don't get to far behind on laundry. I think the laundromat is where I'm gonna stick for now on, because your all right, I may as well as pick her up a rock. That and I can't stand being around her 90 percent of the time because she cusses and acts beligerante in front of my kids.

I am sorry your mom is smoking crack. I suggest you not give her the money and go to the laundry mat. The money wont go to her water bill unless you go to the water company yourself and put that $20.00 towards the bill.

That's what I do, go to the Water Company and drop off a payment for her, but still that lets her keep a 20 in her pocket, and she's able to use it on crack because I paid her water bill before it gets turned off.

Then you already know what to do. I suggest the only conversations you have with her is about conquering her crack addiction because until she has done that nothing else matters at this point.
