I think, if I believed my son, I'd just say "no passengers". There's some states that are wising up and limiting number of teens in a car at one time as they're finding that groups of teens distract the driver and cause the accidents, etc.

</font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font>
For the first year of licensing, or until the driver is age 18, whichever occurs first, the number of passengers is limited to one person under age 20, unless the additional passenger(s) is a sibling, step-sibling, child, or step-child of the driver. After this period, the number of passengers is limited to one in the front seat and the number of safety belts in the back seat.

</div></font></blockquote><font class="post">

Wisconsin has that same sort of teen driver rule, but I'm 100 percent behind this "mean mom." There aren't that many parents these days who have the guts to be parents, instead of trying to be their kids' friend. I applaud her heartily. That boy learned a lesson he will never forget, and one that will serve him well his whole life.

Awesome post!! I am such a bad parent, cuz I agree, rules are rules and having alcohol(open) in the car is not safe at any age!!! Better safe than dead!

Way to go mom!!!!! I got my car taken away for a month when my parents found out I smoked. I had to quit smoking and when I did I got the car back.
