Hi to all my listening friends,

Husband received a good job offer today. Now he is looking like it will cause him deep distress to accept it. This job is 30 mins. away from home. Now he is talking about pursuing a job which is over an hour from home. He is 65, and he got very tired the last time he made that commute. He hasn't worked for a year. We have creditors calling. I built his credit rating up, and now he's trashing mine by his behavior. He doesn't have to give the company an answer until Monday. I'm back at my wits end.

I was just wondering, and maybe you have said why before and I missed it or it has gotten lost in my mind..... but is there a reason to why your husband is weary of working? - like depression or maybe anxiety attacks?

Just trying to piece together the puzzle, so that it makes better sense to me - Thanks!

Rhapsody,

It's hard to remember everyone's stories.

My husband is eight years older than I am, and I don't think he's been listening to the news really well. You know the part about where a lot of people can't afford to retire at age 65. He reached 65 last year, and decided he could just stop working, without consulting me, who has been the financial manager for the life of our marriage.

He has had some depression, but refuses to tell his doctor so he could get medication. What's a girl to do?

He has also continued to spend money this last year that we really didn't have. Fortunately or unfortunately, I have more understanding regarding his psychological issues than the average woman, or would have been gone by now.

Hugs,

EJ
