Is it wrong for a parent to think less of their child because they're ugly? Actually is it wrong to think less of people in general if they're ugly?

If they can fix it and choose not to, then it is really the choice that a person would object to. Or worse, some people actively make choices to detract from their appearance.

If there is a line, maybe it is judging people for what they can't fix. Even then, the line is fuzzy. What is ugly is a matter of personal preference.

I'm just saying people who are generally ugly for no fault of their own. I'm not asking you to figure out what is ugly and what isn't. I'm asking if you think it's okay to think less of someone for it.

I see no reason for anyone to think less of a person.

So No I do not think it is okay , not at all.

Everyone has something going for them, even if it is only a potential and even if it is hard to find. On the other hand, you may not be the right person to find it. As long as you don't kick them while they are down you are doing fine.

It is wrong to judge people purely on your subjective perception of their physical appearance, yes.

I'm sorry if anyone has made you feel ugly.

Armygirl, i don't know if you have kid's or not but would you think less of your child if she/he did not meet the expectaions of what is considered pretty/hansome in a society , beauty is in the eye of the beholder .

It's okay, no one has made me feel ugly. I was just thinking about social interactions and was wondering how others felt on this. It definitely has some effect. I think we're a little more willing to help/be friendly towards good looking people.

Typically good looking people enjoy many advantages during their life. People tend to be more helpful. They tend to earn more money - just like being taller tends to result in earning more money.

Of course it is absolutely wrong to treat good looking people better or worse than ones you do not see as good looking. But the arrow goes both ways too, such as good looking people being mistreated because "They probably have lots of people worshipping them and supporting them". I heard a few stories in my day of how the prettiest girl in school has no date for the prom, because everyone assumed she already had one etc. Or not being hired by a person of the same gender for fear of "competition". NO one should be treated a certain way because of looks: Handicaps, Ethnicities, and beauty. It's a low form of judgement that is not based on the truth of the matter.
