Our roomate, my boyfriends brother was found to have over 150 bottles of urine in his room, along with not having washed his clothes or self in over a year. He never leaves his room, and when he does, we are asleep or not home. His room emits a awful odor also, and I assume there is food in there also. He has his own bathroom too.
He recently sent a disturbing email to his brother outlining the 7 Deadly Sinsand how he and my boyfriend are failing them all. He has never been religious before. He also only refers to me as "succubus" and my dog "hellhound" without using our names. There is so much more, but it would take me hours to type it up. I told my boyfriend he needs to be committed for a 72 hr evaluation, but my bf doesn't think he needd it. He just thinks their family from across the country needs to pick him up and take him home asap. Does he need inpatient help right away? |

Hard to say what he needs but if I were in your shoes I would be wanting to take care of myself; you don't need to live in a smelly/dirty/harmful environment; suggest to your boyfriend that you move out and he go with you or get rid of his brother one way or the other, preferably through mental health care of some sort. It doesn't sound like he just needs evaluation, he needs ongoing help.

Well we own the house, and he has no job or a cent to his name. We are trying to get the family involved to bring him back home.
We knew we had a problem with him, but until the email, we had no idea about the urine collection, the obsession with a very interesting view on religion, him finding me to be possesed by the devil and his wish to move to a shack in the middle of nowhere to find peace and enlightenment. He has these delusions if grandeur, believing a major software company is going to give him 60k for 2a months worth of marketing ideas. He has also diagnosed himself with deadly cancer, without having seen a Doctor. All while blaming me and his brother for everything wrong in his life, and my bringing dark forces into the house. He has lived here responsibility and rent free for years, but feels we are making him live this way in his own filth. |
