Dealing with stuck up and arrogant people is energy draining. They tend to use me or try too, and also conversations with them are always one sided which results in the person only talking about herself or her boyfriend and does not care about anyone else. Also a couple of these people can be very clingy and obsessive when no one else is around so they are not alone and try to use me to fill in empty time, which I don't like. I've gotten better at not letting these people get to me and avoid their toxic tendencies.

Yes, it can be draining. How about, not being there for them, outside of group gatherings? Sounds like you are being the 'guy friend', to these women? Am I reading this wrong?

I work with a woman who is like this. Her conversations are ALWAYS about herself, her children, her husband, her vacations, here issues at work...blah, blah, blah. Anytime, I mean, ANYTIME, I have tried to interject anything into the conversation about other things, she interrupts, or walks away! This is a TOXIC person who should be avoided.
I look forward to doing so! |

People like that can be so emotionally draining but here's a thought....
Could it be that they are also dealing with emotional or mental health issues that make them act that way? Wouldn't at all suggest you continue to be around them because they are causing you stress but, it may help to think of them as dealing with their own issues. |

Yes Healingme4me, I am being the "guy friend" but even some guys have done this too, very rare, but it has happened. But yeah in this story, it is women friends.
