I believe stuck up people secretly have insecurities and low self esteem. They see stuff in others they either hate about themselves or wish they had in themselves and cope with that by putting others down in order to build themselves up. I'm fed up with dealing with these people and now have started to cut them out of my life. Not only are they stuck up, but they also tend to use me as a back up friend which I also hate and don't tolerate.

It's called misdirection - look at what I want you to see instead of my obvious flaws. The more they have to be pushy about it, the more it means they have something to hide.
