He has continued to call me, and never asks me out, just wants to come over to my new house. I know he's hot and heavy on Match.com, and obviously extending himself with dinners and dates in that venue, yet with me, he hasn't done anything but call and want to come over. What am I ...a dead fish to be stepped on.? Last night, I let him know in no uncertain terms I'm not interested. This is sad, because we were good friends in high school, and I had hoped we would have some things in common. NOT!
Anyway, I'm glad I did this, and haven't even had an afterthought about what I said to him.
Patty

I'm not sexist in any way, (sorry if I offend anyone that believe men are above "labels") ... -- I hold men to the same standards as women, in my opinion-- he is acting like a sl**.

I wonder if his wife knows he's been going on dates? Wonder if she even cares??

Well Patty I'm glad you did what you did too!! The one who "wants to sew his oats".... I'm sorry he couldn't have been a friend to you-- you are very worth it! The one who "wants to sew his oats"....

NO, Mandy and Rhap, this is an old high school friend who lives nearby and who recently divorced, about a year ago. We were good friends, though not romantic in high school. We had a folk band together and went on lots of church young people trips, etc. I guess he is in that post-divorce wild phase, which I actually never experienced, though I did date a lot after my divorce. Now, having been single for almost 9 years, I have no desire to put myself "out there" (Seinfeld!).

seeker you have given me good advice with my issues,
i would just like to say if men think they can just get sex with no emotional ties they will,as rhapsody said he is a male sl*g
and if can treat women this way then he is not worth the time and effort of your thoughts, anyhow i seem to think you are NOT the push over type that he thinks you are !!!!!

keep smiling

Oops!!! sorry bout the mix-up Patty! The one who "wants to sew his oats".... I thought you were talking about that other guy.... the one where his wife was going away for a while.

a couple parts of my post though-- about you "rocking" and being great friend quality-- that was not a mix-up! The one who "wants to sew his oats"....

Hope you have a great evening!
