I have been insecure for many years now and it seems I constantly need validation from others. Moreover, most people immediately pick up on the fact that I am low on self-esteem and self-confidence and jeer at me. It seems I need to accept myself and my foibles so that the others accept and eventually care for me.
I am tired of having to be up to par with standards.... Einstein said: "“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Am I a fish trying to climb a tree? Should I keep caring about these things? ...

It is your experiences you are having and only you can impact how you think, feel, act as a result of them. Let yourself be yourself and quit trying to mold yourself to what you believe others want of you. Others have their own agendas, wholly unrelated to you, only related to what they want for their own experiences.

Hi there!
First of all, "perna" is Romanian for "pillow" ![]() Thank you kindly for the post, I do try to detach myself from the standards imposed by our society, because I loathe humanity more than ever. My family and I are the only ones who should matter to me, so I need to accept myself so I can lead a decent life. (hug* Quote:
