Does the fact that I have the strategic acuity of a 5 year-old make me stupid? I am fine in an IQ/bookish sort of way, yet I come across as utterly dense because of my seeming naiveté.
On that note, my being naive is a result of my paranoia. I am either too paranoid or too naive. They are two facets of the same coin-when people ARE out to get me, I think I'm just being delusional and thus come off as naive and, consequently, stupid.
Does the fact that I am not attuned to mind games make me a dunce? I'm terrible at retarded spiels...

I'm not sure I can answer your question, but I do know that not being attuned to mind games doesn't make you a dunce. Mind games are played by people who want something without coming out and asking for it. I'm sorry it results in paranoia for you. It's a shame we have to put up with games people play. Thankfully, there are a lot of people who don't play games. These are the ones I would seek out if I were you. The ones without an agenda. That's why I like this site.
Best wishes

thank you kindly for the reply. I do wish people would not dissemble their thoughts, I wish no one would have to lie about anything serious. That's why I feel incapacitated when it comes to ploys and games- I don't know what makes people tick.

I'm not sure I know what makes them tick either. Especially the lying, but having a mental health issues background it does make you want to keep secrets. You never know how people are going to react when you tell them you are mentally ill. I know a lot of people hide their mental health status to protect themselves from ridicule or being looked down on. I'm sure other people think they have good reasons. I'm pretty upfront with people I know well but tend to keep my mental illness from those I only causally know.
