Sometimes I have noticed that communicating, especially around another physically, is extremely draining for me and really takes something of a toll. I guess everybody has times where they need to isolate themselves a little to recover, but what means of getting away from being social would you call extreme? I have never lost my voice, though it has come close, but lately it has been coming to mind that 'losing my voice' for a day, if only pretend, would be helpful in escaping communication and taking time to be in my head rather than where I actually am sometimes. Does anyone think this is a bad idea I'm not too sure how it might seem in the views of others? It sounds selfish, I just need to be 'away' for a while and it seems the only way.

Hi Convall, I am so sorry to say this and I do not mean to hurt your feelings, but I do not quite understand what you are asking. If you are asking if it is ok to isolate to be by yourself, I would for the most part say no. But it also depends on how often you feel like that and how long you isolate.
I isolate many times because I do not want the company of others. Cause I want to spend time by myself, working on my projects or reading. I find nothing wrong with that!
I guess it can be a problem if isolation is your way of coping with life period! If that is the case maybe you can seek professional help!
