So I've known my parents where goo to get divorced ever since I was little. And they said that they would wait until I was out of highschool. But now my mom said she can't wait that long. (2years) but she can't support me and herself. So I have to help out someway. I'm 15. So I can't drive. Can't get a job. And I already give her all my money so she can buy what she needs to. What am I supposed to do?
If I could afford it I would be in college right now and I would pay for an apartment for us both. But by law, I'm still a kid. What does she expect me to do? Does anybody have advice? Not to mention I need to be in therapy but that costs money too. |

Could you speak to a guidance counselor at school? Or a trusted clergy?
Maybe you can surf the web in your state to find assistance programs that you and your mom might qualify for? Such as assistance for housing, electric bills, food, and the like. You may need to make phone calls and ask questions but if you can find help it may well be worth it. |

You should not have to feel that all this is your responsibility. They are the parents. Social services may give some help, but your parents would have to apply for it since you are underage. Have you tried talking to a pastor? How about asking for help or a referral from your high school guidance counselor. Don't give up.

I am kind of with seekersinking......
Mom needs to put on her big-girl pants and take care of her and you. This is NOT your job or your responsibility. |
