Can anyone give me some thoughts on what might be a reasonable amount of time to try to reconnect with someone who I knew for seven years, lived together for six years and was about to get married to...?

Why do you want to reconcile? And in what note did the relationship end?

It ended because of financial difficulties we were having. She thought that I didn't want to marry her. I kept pushing out the date to marry because I wanted to have financial stability first. She wouldn't accept this she said money wasn't the reason. It ended on an angry note with her leaving one night. I have not heard from her since.

Yes She had no family here in NC so she is living in FL with her sister

I have tried but no response until a month ago my letter came back unopened with angrily written "RETURN TO SENDER" written on it. I have decided since it has been ayear I should wait awhile...
