Relationship troubles, especially unexpected, deserve your attention, but are not the source of your pain. If you can be conscious enough to find the root of the problem you and your partner are having, then you can work together to talk about it and fix it. Maybe the solution is just to sit and listen, and hear your partner's feelings. Maybe it's more elaborate, but not insurmountable. Don't fret over the short-term, because love and dedication are both long-term feelings/states. Depend on a mutual understanding, because it's the bridge to how you can better understand your partner. Do what I could not do for myself. Listen to her/him, try and work together to address the issues. If this is fundamentally impossible, then it is my belief your relationship will not succeed, even if this most recent hurdle can be cleared. The basis of good relationships are built with trust, respect and love. If any of these are lacking, or gone, or replaced with something unwanted. EJECT.

I did not pull my lever in time. She cheated on me, and left me after I got out of the mental hospital. At my lowest, most broken state, I got hurt and abandoned all over again. It's a terrible amount of pain to endure. Please know that I only wish to spare you the suffering I have endured. Just talk to your lover. Everything is better with communication.

I wish you the best.

Thanks so much. You are right that communication is the key issue in a relationship.

Did your wife ever come back?
