hello to everyone and thank you for allowing me to be on this forum
currently i am severe/moderately depressed according to the quiz i took.
last December i had an open heart surgery (cabg) done and i have been a diabetic for the past three years. My wife, my son and i live with my daughter and my son in law and our two grandsons. last year my son in laws parents came down to stay with us for about 2 months and i felt i had lost my independence. they came back last December to visit me after my surgery and they stayed for three weeks, they also had their other grandson who is 2 years old. everyday i would hear screaming kids while i was trying to recover. i started to stay in my bedroom and i felt more a more depressed. There back again this year to stay for another two months and i have started to stay in my bedroom again, now i am really feeling depressed i cant move around freely in the house, i cant even take my wife out, because she fears offending them, plus there always in the kitchen cooking. i am considering moving out by the time they come again next year.my question is my depression due to my surgery or because of too many people in the house. not to mention talking loudly and inviting their friends around. i am also an introvert. thank you

Why are they staying at your house for so long? Is it a cultural thing?
