Today my 17 year old son threatened me (again). He made a fist and pulled it back and I instinctively raised my fists to counter the attack. He did not follow through.I told him if he hit me he would seriously regret it. He used to be such a good kid but the last 3-4 years have been a trial. I am wondering what I should have done. I have filed mental hygiene petitions on him a couple of times. Sometimes I wonder if I am safe around him.

I think in today's times kids have no respect for parents and are constantly being labeled. I am so sorry you are going thru this with your son. mine tried stuff like that til I kicked him out of the house right before he was 19. now he is a really good young man thank goodness! I wish you all the best!
