I know some people that label others incorrectly. Like, I know someone who labels anyone who talks too much with Asperger's syndrome/Autism. That's the most common disorder she labels people with. She'll also assume that anyone who talks too much or talks more than she does is a know it all or arrogant. W also deal with those who judge us on our looks and the way we do things. People are always judging me for my appearance. I've realized the only way to deal with people who labels others or even you wrong or judges a lot is to ignore what they have to say. They are looking for a reaction and it takes away their power if you ignore them. I've noticed that making witty come backs doesn't really help. Anyone use other methods when dealing with those people? Just curious.

I usually tend to ignore them, though it can get on my nerves. I am not usually labeled, as by all standards I'm a pretty normal looking gal, but I do get very upset at both my mother and grandmother. Any time they see someone who is unmarried or dresses differently my grandma will go "oh he's gay", even if I try to tell her she's wrong she'll keep on. It can get frustrating, but I've learned you just can't help people who want to label that way.

You got that right, glad to hear you don't get labeled, no one deserves that. And I don't blame you, that would upset me too. I know someone else at my school who labels all international students, especially those from Saudi Arabia, assholes. Really gets on my nerves and yeah the best thing to do is ignore.

That's hilarious. That is about the stupidest stereotype one can make. My son is DXd with Asperger's. Ummm does he talk too much? Quite the opposite. In every way he is very much autistic but he suffers from Selective Mutism, so has an inability to actually talk to strangers and uses an ipad at school to verbalize things. Yeah not all Autistic people talk a lot. And a lot of people who are Neuro Typical talk too much too. >.>

I think that ignoring them altogether is a good way to deal with them but sometimes actually asserting yourself is good too but it depends on the person. You kind of have to deal with things as they come. I'm sorry that you're judged by people. I'm sure you're fine as you are

I know it's crazy. Just because someone talks too much doesn't mean there is something wrong with them. She just likes to talk bad about others. She is actually one of the stuck up, arrogant, and fake people I deal with who I talk about in another thread. She's bad news. Yep, ignoring people overall is the best but I have gotten pretty good at asserting myself if I ever have to. Thank you, I am hearing impaired and have a slight paralysis on my face which her and other people judge.

Well sounds like she's an aggravation for you but you seem like you're handling it well. don't let her get to you and don't let people's judgement affect you.

Yes she is, and she's an aggravation for others as well. Thank you and yes I try not to let it affect me
