I just got out of a long-term relationship with a girl carrying the burden of major depression, anxiety, substance-abuse, hypersomnolence, hoarding behavior, eating disorder and childhood sexual abuse. Fortunately she no longer has to deal with the likes of me. As a scientific type person I naturally tend towards these gross diagnostic labels. However and thinking of our past relationship it brings to mind the thought of the time very early in our relationship when she labeled herself as "sensitive". It seemed a sweet enough statement and from her ravaging beauty and my gurgling testosterone it made little difference what she said. As the relationship began and entered into it's early evolution it became clear what she meant. All in all it turned turned out the girl was an extreme borderline personality. She did have a comorbid features of severe depression to the point of rarely leaving her bed. The idea that "I don't like the way tennis shoes feel" indicated her lack of desire to take in physical activity. The idea that "I don't like to talk" indicated her extreme sensitivity to general conversation. And her idea of "I'm sensitive" indicating her overall unhappiness in all arenas. With this being said I can only warn people, having learn the hard way, that dating an individual that labels himself/herself as any in particular TYPE should raise suspicion of everyone as to the potential presence of a complex yet overly structured personality. For instance once I dated a girl that claimed to be "a little dishonest". Needless to say I had to end the relationship based upon areas of dishonesty.
I'm wondering how I would label myself if I had to do so in just one word?

I think I certainly would have trouble coming up with one word that totally describes myself. Yes, it's certainly important to read the "labels," that's for sure.

I dont think anyone could come up one word " lable" .. or even a few words of a "label" .. I guess the only one that would fit is that I am a human being but that doesnt really answer what your asking for I suppose.
