Hey!
So, a few nights ago, I got my first boyfriend. I told him how I felt about him, and we agreed to be in a relationship (it has been implied numerous times that he feels the same way).

First problem: His mom wouldn't approve of him having a girlfriend, as she thinks it will be a distraction factor from school.

Second problem: Many people think he should be together with one of my good friends.

Third problem: The friend I just mentioned used to like him, but now has a boyfriend.

I don't think we're going to make this public for a while, and we will only be seeing each other at school until we can somehow convince his mom to let him have a girlfriend (I have no clue how we could do that). The reason I don't want this to be public is because of the second problem listed. I'm not sure how to tell my friend about this, either.
All of this is making me feel very anxious and as if this won't work out. I don't want to worry, but I don't know how else to think. I want this to work out, and I want to be happy, but I really, really just don't know what to do.

Can anyone give me any advice or insight? Thank you all for reading through this.

First of all congrats on your first boyfriend.
1. If his mom thinks your a distraction from school, show her that you know how important school is. Set up study dates and yes, you really do have to study when you say you are. Not all of your dates have to involve school, but show her that you are a good influence. Once she gets the picture you can dial it down.

2. Ok, so people think he should be with someone else. Oh well, he's with you and that's all there is to it. You really like him, right? Ok then what people say doesn't matter. If they don't like it oh well, sucks for them because they have to deal with it. Be happy and know that you were meant to be together otherwise it wouldn't have happened.

3. Your friend has probably moved on if she has another boyfriend so you shouldn't have to worry about that. If she still has feelings for him (I seriously doubt it) then that's that, but if she takes it out on you then that says more about her then you doesn't it?
Hope this helped. Good luck
