Someone who treats you as though you are less then they are and in need of protection as you are a lot more reserved and they are very outgoing and loud?

I'd be very careful (and be careful of your heart)
I'm not sure of the situation but please share more if you feel comfortable

One example is they will say 'Jen is so quiet, she needs me to stick up for her'. I also just get the general impression that she thinks she is above me as she has money, more friends, married and a social butterfly at work.

this has been a real problem for me lately, as complete strangers want to handle my oxygen equipment ( ), and 'help me' carry things into my house~! what, do i look like a cripple ? or are they even seeing me. finally, Friday, after specifically saying "stop there" and the driver of the little bus and her granddaughter came in my house i just sat against the bed and didn't look at them. they got the message, just which one they got i'm not sure,, but STAY OUT of my house~!

seriously, we cannot control other people very well, and it's hardly worth the bother trying. we can only control ourselves, and that is a whole job o' work~!

best wishes~
Gus

I think you have to speak up for yourself, and establishing your turf is important in this situation. If you prefer to speak silent or do not wish to mingle with other people, this abstention does not imply that someone on their own starts calling shots for you. So you have to be vocal here by clearly stating that whenever you have to make a decision, no one else needs to step in. If you'd need any help or advice, you will expressly consult these self-styled advisers...
