I just read the article What a toxic person & how do you deal with one
Is this type of person also a narcissist? 30 years I have been married to him...
But any way, the article is appreciated and enlightening. Thank you!

Today was another classic day..
I was feeling all of the things in the article...and I finally busted- got irritated with his yelling at our cat, snarky comments (says things but with a "Tone" )
And I got mad and took it out on him, it should have been at my self for being so sensitive..He says he feels like he has to walk on egg shells around me...

Well, if he's complaining of feeling like he's walking on eggshells and you're feeling he's toxic, could be time for couples counseling.

In the meantime, next time he's yelling or snarky with the pets, try a supportive statement, followed by an empathetic one, then state your truth.

For instance, take a deep breath. Calmly,

Honey, I do love you, I realize work is stressful, when you use that tone on our pets, I grow aggitated because first it starts with animals, then it could spread out to how you treat me. And frankly, I am the one feeling on eggshells.

Hope that helps.

PS. Remember, calm, cool, collected.

Thank you...
We had a couples counseling appointment, but he like resented it, so I cancelled it.
