Ok so I was just watching "Knocked up" which featured a couple.
The man was played by Paul Rudd and seemed very nice and the woman was just a nagging ***** in my opinion, and in the opinion of Seth Rogen in the film. Anyway, then the Paul Rudd character lies about working back late in order to spend some time with his friends without being nagged about it, and somehow this makes him a bad husband, and he is asked by his wife to NOT RETURN HOME ![]() Is this really such a big deal that you would kick your husband out of the house? ![]() Also, where is the comeuppance for the wife character? Granted I haven't finished watching the film yet, so maybe she'll get hers in time. Thoughts? ![]() |

Yes, thank you Toilet,
You see I have not personally seen this. Your descriptor and opinons of the characters portrayed seem quite strong. Well I guess the script writers were free to write the twist and plots to end in any manner they deemed fit regarless of whether they are beyond the realms of social norms. This is what can at times make for interesting viewing as story lines can be so atypical. Well I don't think being dishonest in a relationship is entirely right in my opinion. If he was wanting to hang back with friends, what was the reason that he didn't want to tell her? Okay you've already said she was nagging so maybe this is why she's just too much of a nag to bother being nagged at? Well the wife's reaction is rather dramatic! No wonder he didn't tell her! Hmmm. This relationship seems rocky and seemed rocky before this incident as the response is not a normal response. I think that they need couple counselling. Otherwise this story line in your movie will not end well and you and I can write the rest of the plot here about how this relationship will end. The End. |

Kicking him out for lying about working late and going out with friends, is a bit of an overreaction.
Haven't seen the movie, don't know what happens with the nagging wife. The wife of one of my children's paternal cousins, upon her second pregnancy was placed on warning, that he would leave her. She was just that bad the first pregnancy. He was very serious. She changed her tune. Sent from my LGMS323 using Tapatalk |

I should explain that the woman being discussed here wasn't pregnant in the movie, her sister was.

IT, it's a movie. Fictional characters don't necessarily act the way people do in real life. Basing how we act in real life on fictional stories is likely to cause us a ton of grief.
